What value volume or tone pot should I use with Submarine Pickups?
For most setups, Submarine Pickups work best with a 100k potentiometer for volume or tone. This value is well matched to the output impedance of a single string channel (around 2.5 kΩ), giving a balanced level and clear tone.
If you’re passively combining multiple strings on a SubPro, the effective output impedance changes. In those cases, a 250k pot may give more consistent results and preserve clarity across grouped signals.
Higher values, such as 500k (common with magnetic pickups), are not recommended, as they don’t provide any benefit for Submarine Pickups and can make the output less predictable.
