Do Submarine Pickups suffer from channel bleed or cross-talk between strings?
Submarine Pickups are engineered for exceptionally low cross-talk, so each string is captured with clear separation. In normal setups, any bleed between strings is minimal and does not affect live performance or recording.
Some factors can increase cross-talk:
Pickup height â keep sensors within the 3â8 mm recommended range.
Mounting â ensure the baseplate and magnets are firmly seated to avoid microphonics.
Gain â running very high gain settings will inevitably make any cross-talk more audible.
Channel grouping â on the SubPro, assigning no more than four strings per channel helps maintain strong levels and cleaner separation.
With correct setup and sensible gain, Submarine Pickups provide excellent isolation for effects processing, multi-track recording, and advanced stereo or multi-amp rigs.
