What tone capacitor values work best with Submarine Pickups?

If you do want to try a permanent install, Submarine Pickups can be wired to a tone control in the same way as standard guitar pickups. A 0.047 ÂľF (47nF) capacitor produces a very dark roll-off, removing most upper harmonics. This is especially effective on the bass strings when using analogue sub-octave effects, where cutting those harmonics helps reduce glitching.

For a subtler effect across all strings, a 0.022 ÂľF capacitor gives a gentler treble reduction, keeping more clarity while still taming brightness. Larger values such as 0.1 ÂľF produce an even deeper roll-off and can create an extremely dark tone, similar to some early vintage instruments.
